Having been in the design industry for over 7 years, with a background in Architectural Design, I have developed spatial experiences for occupants in the form of well functioning and aesthetically pleasant building designs. My interest in problem solving along with my interest in tech motivated me to transition into UX Design, creating digital experiences and solving problems on a larger scale.
Studied a five year program which equipped me with transferrable skills around design research, exploration, iterative and precise designs all the way to execution. Learnt the value of iterative user-centered design, aesthetic minimalism and delivery for optimal return-on-investment. Working on college projects allowed us the creative freedom to experiment and explore the boundaries of physical experiences in order to create functional and pleasant designs.
Working professionally as an Architect helped me develop a strong work ethic, a knack for meticulous detailing and relentless hard-work. My day-to-day involved collaboration and co-ordination with interdisciplinary professionals (such as Civil, MEP, Consultants) for delivering impactful solutions, spearheading alignment to bridge the gaps from various viewpoints to ensure that the shipped product over-delivers on its value and ensures a positive return on investment.
Enrolled in a year long UX Design Graduate Certificate program at Humber College. The UX Design program equipped me with design thinking skills, vital for solving real world problems through iterative collaborative design. The acquired knowledge enabled me to (1) uncover pain-points through design research, and (2) frame the problem by uncovering the underlying causes which can be easily overlooked if not diagnosed critically, and (3) devise potential solutions through iterative designing and thorough testing. I’m equipped with various human-centered design methods in addition to literary rhetoric for effectively articulating and advocating for our design decisions. This allows me to support the team with presenting envisioned solutions that fulfil user needs through value creation and achieving business goals.
The Media Content Strategy program at Humber College changed the way that I viewed content. The field is new and emerging, and involves helping organizations maintain their digital presence through establishing consistency and credibility by means of providing informative, useful and/or entertaining content for the target audience. We learnt how to produce and publish content and provide consultation around best practices, optimization and improvement. We were also taught how to tell stories through data to product content that resonates with the audience, helps maintain public relations and standardize the image of the organization holistically. We were taught about various aspects of content lifecycle, from ideation to curation, leveraging various tactics and tools e.g. content inventories and audits in order to make strategic and impactful recommendations for content.
I enjoy reading books that make me think, spark my curiosity and make me challenge my beliefs.
From time to time, I also try to take up freelance projects from time to time to keep myself engaged with learning. I enjoy learning about psychology, quantum mechanics and cosmology. Some favourites of mine in shows and anime series are Through the Wormhole, Naruto and Death Note. Being a music enthusiast, I like curating my music collection and produce electronic music as a hobby – techno/house mostly.
