Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality are quite intriguing to anyone new to the field of User Experience Design. As an individual new to the field, I too was deeply captivated by its concepts. However, it was challenging sorting through the vast amount of overwhelming information available on the internet and to find the critical path for developing an understanding of the domain. After about a year into the field, I was at the library looking for books about UX Design to enhance my knowledge and satiate my desire for learning new concepts and voila! I came across a really interesting book called “The VR Book: Human Centered Design for Virtual Reality” by Jason Jerald. I began reading the book in hopes of grasping the basic concepts of Virtual Reality so that someday when I do have the opportunity to work on a project, I’ll be equipped with the soft skills needed for it. Besides that, I had plans to start my own blog about a niche within the field of UX but was unable to finalize the topic. However, reading this book gave me a fresh perspective and inspired me to start this blog. After reading a few chapters of the book, I was entirely absorbed in it. Upon reading further, it struck me that I could document my learnings into simplified articles which would be educational and could possibly inform individuals new to the field. I hope to streamline my learnings and present them in a manner such that they are not only informative and engaging but are also fun to read.
The content found here may also be helpful to clarity the field of AR/VR. Through this blog, I hope you will find the inspiration and motivation to take action and shape your own reality and realize your dreams.
